Somalia and Kenya Launch Joint Training on Identity Document Security

Officials from both countries gathered this week to kick off a new capacity-building program backed by Norway. The training will focus on strengthening how identity documents are checked, secured, and verified across the region.

The Director General of Somalia's Immigration and Citizenship Agency, Mudane Xuseen Qaasim Yuusuf, attended the opening alongside officials from Kenya's immigration service and law enforcement agencies. The program will cover practical skills like document examination, security feature identification, and passport verification tools both countries need to combat human trafficking and document fraud more effectively.
