As part of the transition, the outgoing Director General led an orientation for his successor, briefing him on the Agency's operations, ongoing programmes and institutional priorities. The handover was conducted to ensure continuity of service and a smooth transfer of responsibilities. Mr. Hussein Qasim Yusuf assumes office at a significant moment in the Agency's modernisation journey. In recent years, the ICA has introduced biometric travel documents, launched the Electronic Visa (E-Visa/ETAS) system, and expanded its network of passport centres — reforms aimed at delivering secure, efficient and citizen-focused services. In welcoming the new leadership, the Agency reaffirmed its commitment to building on these achievements, strengthening border security, and continuing to modernise Somalia's immigration and citizenship services in line with international standards. The Agency also expressed its gratitude to the outgoing Director General for his service and dedication, and pledged that its mission of serving the Somali people, at home and across the diaspora, would continue without interruption.
