The Somalia prime minister, H.E. Hamza Abdi Barre, inaugurated the new headquarters building of the Immigration and Citizenship Agency of Somalia (ICA). In addition to other distinguished guests, the Minister of Internal Security, the Mayor of Mogadishu, the current Director General, and former DGs of the ICA attended the official inauguration ceremony of the ICA’s new facility in Mogadishu.
In his speech, Somalia’s prime minister, Mr. Barre, hailed the ICA HQ building completion as a “significant milestone in the agency’s development and its commitment to enhancing public service delivery.”
On the other hand Col. Mohamed Aden Jima’ale, the former director general of the agency, acknowledged in his remarks that his predecessor, Gen. Abdullahi Gafow Mohamed, had intiated the ‘visionary idea’ of constructing an ICA headquarters. He extended his appreciation to the current DG for seeing the project through to its conclusion. Contrarily, General Gafow took delight in the opening of the ICA headquarters building and emphasised the “national honour associated with such a prominent facility for the Immigration and Citizenship Agency.”
In his remarks at the ceremony, the current DG of the ICA, Mr. Abdulkadir Elmi Ali, emphasised past achievements and delineated prospective strategies.
At the end of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the ICA’s headquarters building, H.E. Mohamed Sheikh Ali Dodishe, Minister of Internal Security, thanked the kind donors whose contributions enabled the ICA’s construction.
